Unit 10

Even through i am not planning on going to uni once i have left college i am still having a look at Apprenticeships, i have looked into different subjects that are in the direction i might consider.

I don't want to go to uni at the moment as i struggle to write and learn in a classroom, i learn a lot quicker in the field and working with the equipment, for this reason i have looked into apprenticeships a this is a lot more suited to me.

I have looked on WhatUni.com, this website was suggested by my college as a great resource to find the best courses quickly.

The apprenticeships i have looked for are as followed:
-Live Sound
-Production Lighting
-Lighting the theatre
-Production Sound

I have choose not to pursue further education as I am a lot more practical that academic, I have been working for a few years part time at several different companies, I began working and KI sound and light in the summer of 2016, did some paid and work experience at KI which was a great learning point and gave me knowledge about equipment I would never of normal used.

I have also work at an events company in Chessington called Clownfish Events, this is a very young and fast working company, i am still working there currently and have been offered alot more regular work there once i leave college, this is one of the many reasons why i have choose to work as i have been given opportunities to work in the industry i have been studying.

i also work part time at Great Baddow High School as an IT and media technician, this evolves me maintaining equipment and teaching student about different techniques in lighting and filming a video, this is a great job as i feel the industry is heading towards more IT and network basses so having the opportunity to learn more about IT at an industry level is great. they have offered me a level 3 apprenticeship at Baddow next near involving becoming Microsoft trained and a lot more knowledge in ciber security. i have yet made my mind up on this offer as I don't want to loose the skills and talent u have already.

The apprenticeship will result in me becoming a full time member of staff at gbhs but will result in going on a ginkle week training course each month instead of once a week, we choose this as I can consionstrate more on my work for a solid week rather than for a single day. I have chosen to do this apprentaship as it will grow my knowledge to a different industry but it will also help me with the technical side of things as well as both industries are very similar, I liked this apprentship as I became Microsoft trained  which is a great gold star.

IT and network lay very well into each other along with lighting sound and visual effects, I see this as a great opportunity.
